    2 C butter, softened
    1 C sugar
    4 C sifted flour

    Recipe



    Cream butter and sugar until smooth. Gradually blend in the flour. Roll dough to 1/4 inch thick, on lightly floured surface. Bake at 350° F. for 8 to 10 minutes. Cool on sheet for 5 minutes, and move to rack.

    1 jar Raspberry preserves

    Put 1 tsp raspberry preserves on 1/2 of cookies. Put second cookie on top.

    8 C confectioner's sugar
    1/2 C milk

    Gradually stir in milk to make a spreadable icing. Spread on top of cookie sandwiches.

    24 maraschino cherries, halved

    Put 1/2 cherry on top of each cookie before icing dries.
