Old-fashioned Candied Yams in Apple Cups

List of Ingredients
3 medium yams
1/2 cup sugar
1 Tablespoon nutmeg
1/4 stick butter
1 teaspoon vanilla
pinch of salt
1 1/2 cups water
4 Red apples
4 Marshmallows
Recipe
Peel and cut yams in quarters. Sprinkle with sugar and nutmeg.
Add butter. Add vanilla, salt and water. Cover and simmer over
medium heat until liquid forms a syrup. Remove from heat.
Mash yams.
Scoop out inside of apples leaving 1/2 inch margin all around. Fill apples with yams. Bake @325 for 15 minutes.
Place marshmallows on top of apples and place back in oven to brown.
