    Source of Recipe

Chef Paula Deen of The Lady & Sons Restaurant in Savannah, GA

    List of Ingredients

    Saltine crackers
    Melted butter or olive oil
    Sesame Seeds
    Dark Sesame Seeds
    Parsley, chopped

    Recipe

Brush saltines with melted butter or olive oil. Sprinkle with sesame seeds, dark sesame seeds and chopped parsley. Bake in a medium oven (350 degrees F.) for 5-7 minutes or until toasty.

MY NOTES: Paula didn't mention it, but some saltines will bake faster than others. It really depends on how humid it is, whether you use butter (which contains some water) or just oil and what brand of saltines you're using. So the cooking time will vary. It will also vary depending on the type of oven being used - i.e. electric, gas or convection. 4 minutes is a gracious plenty in a convection oven.

Another variation I've used myself uses herb infused olive oil topped with cracked black pepper, chives, finely chopped sun-dried tomatoes and Romano cheese. (I like it sharp, but Parmesan would work equally well and be a bit smoother.)
