    9 Cups Unbleached Flour
    4 Teaspoons Soda
    2 Teaspoons Salt
    3 Cups Firmly-packed Dark Brown Sugar
    3 Cups Granulated Sugar
    4 Cups Solid All-vegetable Shortening
    4 Cups Chopped Pecans
    4 Pkgs Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips (12 oz each)

    Combine flour, soda, salt and sugars in a very large bowl or container such as a canner. Mix in shortening with fingers of a large meat fork. Stir in nuts and chocolate chips. Store in airtight container in a cool, dry place.

    Keeps 6 months or longer. (Keeps indefinitely in a freezer.)

    YIELD: 28 Cups of Mix

    To Make Cookies: Combine 7 cups of mix with 1 Teaspoon Vanilla that has been mixed with 2 slightly beaten Eggs. Makes a heavy batter. Drop by heaping teaspoons on greased baking sheets.

    Bake 8 to 10 minutes at 375 degrees. Cool slightly in pan before removing.
