    1 Bag Caramels (14 oz)
    1/4 Cup Water
    1/4 Cup Butter
    3 Eggs, beaten
    3/4 Cup Sugar
    ½ Teaspoon Vanilla
    1/4 Teaspoon Salt
    1 Cup Pecan Pieces
    1 Unbaked 9" Pastry Shell

    Recipe



    Combine caramels, water and butter in the top of a double boiler over boiling water. Reduce heat to low. Cook and stir occasionally until caramels melt. Remove from heat.

    Combine eggs, sugar, vanilla and salt in a medium-size bowl; beat well. Stir into caramel mixture gradually, stirring well. Add pecans and pour into unbaked pie shell. Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

    YIELD: 6 to 8 servings

    Variation: Add 32 caramels, cut eggs to 2 and increase pecans to 1¼ cups. Cook the mixture and pour into an 8" pie shell. Bake as above.
