    1 egg
    1/2 c. sugar
    1/3 c. sour cream
    1 1/2 c. flour
    1/2 tsp. baking powder
    dash of nutmeg
    dash of salt
    1/2 c. golden raisins
    oil for frying
    1/2 c. sugar
    1 Tbsp. cinnamon
    powdered sugar (optional)

    Recipe



    Makes 18 to 24. In bowl, beat egg. Gradually add sugar
    and beat until very light. Stir in sour cream. Combine
    flour,
    baking soda, baking powder, nutmeg and salt. Stir in the
    raisins. Add to egg mixture. Stir until smooth. Chill 1 hour

    or more. Roll on lightly floured board to 1/2-inch thick.
    Cut
    with round cutter 1 to 1 1/2-inches diameter. Make an X
    slash
    on top of each with a sharp knife. Fry in hot oil, 375
    degrees for 2
    to 3 minutes or until golden and cooked through the middle.
    Mix sugar and cinnamon. Dust hot puffs with mixture or with
    powdered sugar.
