    NORTH CAROLINA-STYLE MEAT LOAF

    List of Ingredients




    2 lbs. lean ground beef
    1/2 cup breadcrumbs
    1 medium onion, finely chopped
    1 egg, beaten
    1-1/2 tsp salt
    1/4 tsp freshly ground black pepper
    1 (8-oz) can tomato sauce, divided
    1/2 cup water
    2 TBS cider vinegar
    3 TBS dark brown sugar
    2 TBS prepared mustard
    2 TBS Worcestershire sauce

    Recipe



    Combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, onion,
    egg, salt, pepper, 1/2 can of tomato sauce
    and water.

    Mix together well.

    Form into a loaf shape and place in shallow
    7x10-inch pan.

    In a saucepan, combine cider vinegar, brown
    sugar, prepared mustard, rest of tomato
    sauce and Worcestershire sauce.

    Bring mixture to boil.

    Pour sauce over meatloaf.

    Bake at 350º F. for 1 hour 15 minutes.

    Baste occasionally.

    Serve hot.
