    Reuben Sandwich


    List of Ingredients


    • 2 slices rye bread
    • Russian dressing
    • 3 ounces thinly sliced corned beef {approximately}
    • Sauerkraut to taste, well drained
    • 1 large slice swiss cheese
    • butter


    Instructions


    1. Spread the slices of rye bread with with russian dressing and pile on some corned beef. You can use a thin layer of meat or you can pile it high. Pile the sauerkraut over the meat and top with a slice of swiss cheese. Cover with another slice of rye bread that has been sread with russian dressing.
    2. Butter the outside of the top and bottom pieces of bread and place the whole sandwich in a heated skillet. When the bread is fried on one side, turn the sandwich over and fry the other side of the sandwich.
    3. The filling should be hot and the cheese melted. Serve at once.


    Final Comments


    This sandwich requires high quality corned beef, but you can substitute turkey or ham for the corned beef.
