    List of Ingredients




    1 lb. ground beef
    1 egg, fork beaten
    1/2 tsp. Worcestershire sauce
    8 drops Tabasco sauce
    1 tblsp. instant coffee
    1/8 tsp. pepper
    4 tsp. instant minced onion, softened in 4 tsp. water
    1/2 to 3/4 cup chopped water chestnuts
    Fine cracker crumbs
    Butter or margarine

    Recipe



    1. Lightly mix the meat with the egg, Worcestershire sauce, and Tabasco sauce. Blend with a mixture of the coffee, salt and pepper. Add the softened onion and water chestnuts; mix lightly.

    2. Form mixture into one-inch balls. Roll in crumbs.

    3. Brown meatballs in hot butter in a large heavy skillet over medium heat; shake frequently to obtain even browning and round balls.

    4. Spear with fancy wooden picks and serve hot. If desired, serve from chafing dish.

    About 5 1/2 dozen balls.
