    Meat Balls

    Source of Recipe

    Christian Home Cook Book (modified)

    List of Ingredients

    • 2 1/2 pounds ground beef
    • 1/4 cup chopped onion (or substitute onion powder)
    • 1 1/3 cups cracker crumbs
    • 3 eggs
    • 1/2 cup catsup
    • 2 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
    • 2 cans cream of mushroom soup
    • 1/2 cup cream

    Instructions

    1. Mix all ingredients together except for cream and soup.

    2. Shape into small balls. (I use the small or medium sized scoop from Pampered Chef.)

    3. Brown meat balls in a hot skillet and place them into a casserole dish.

    4. Drain drippings from the skillet, leaving about 1 to 2 tablespoons.

    5. Add soup to the drippings in the skillet and stir.

    6. Add enough cream to make a gravy (I usually add more than 1/2 cup). Gravy should be of medium consistency.

    7. Stir until heated, then pour the gravy over the meatballs. Gravy will thicken as it bakes.

    8. Cover and bake in 325 degree oven for 1 1/4 hours.

    Final Comments

Serves 12 to 14 and doubles nicely. If I make this for someone else, I always have to make extra for my kids. They love it!!
