    List of Ingredients


    • 1 lb. ground beef or turkey
    • 1 TBSP olive oil
    • 1/2 cup chopped onion
    • 1 clove garlic, pressed
    • 2 TBSP chopped red bell pepper
    • 1/4 cup finely chopped carrot
    • 1/4 cup white wine
    • 1 TBSP balsamic vinegar
    • 1/2 bay leaf
    • Salt and pepper to taste
    • 1 14.5 oz can stewed tomatoes, undrained
    • 1 8 oz can tomato sauce
    • Water if needed


    Instructions


    1. Cook beef in a large skillet until browned. Drain and remove from skillet.
    2. Add oil to the skillet; saute onions and garlic for about 2 minutes; add bell pepper and carrot and saute for another 2 minutes.
    3. Add the browned beef, then stir in the remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove bay leaf before serving.
