List of Ingredients
- 1 lb. ground beef or turkey
- 1 TBSP olive oil
- 1/2 cup chopped onion
- 1 clove garlic, pressed
- 2 TBSP chopped red bell pepper
- 1/4 cup finely chopped carrot
- 1/4 cup white wine
- 1 TBSP balsamic vinegar
- 1/2 bay leaf
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 14.5 oz can stewed tomatoes, undrained
- 1 8 oz can tomato sauce
- Water if needed
Instructions
- Cook beef in a large skillet until browned. Drain and remove from skillet.
- Add oil to the skillet; saute onions and garlic for about 2 minutes; add bell pepper and carrot and saute for another 2 minutes.
- Add the browned beef, then stir in the remaining ingredients. Bring to a boil, reduce heat and simmer for about 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove bay leaf before serving.
