    List of Ingredients


    • 1/4 CUP BUTTER
    • 1 CUP SUGAR
    • 2 EGGS
    • ABOUT 3 1/2 CUP FLOUR
    • 1/2 TEASPOON SALT
    • 3 TEASPOONS BAKING POWDER
    • 1/2 TEASPOON NUTMEG
    • 1 CUP MILK


    Instructions


    1. CREAM BUTTER AND SUGAR UNTIL LIGHT AND FLUFFY.
    2. ADD BEATEN EGGS
    3. ADD DRY INGREDIENTS ALTERNATELY WITH MILK
    4. TURN ONTO FLOURED BOARD
    5. KNEAD SLIGHTLY
    6. ROLL OUT INTO STRIPS (ABOUT 8 INCHES LONG AND 3/4 INCHES WIDE)
    7. DOUBLE AND TWIST TOGETHER, PINCHING ENDS FIRMLY OR CUT LIKE DOUGHNUTS.
    8. FRY IN DEEP FAT (360-375 DEGREES)
    9. DRAIN THOROUGHLY ON PAPER TOWEL
    10. ROLL IN POWDERED SUGAR, OR CINNAMON AND PLAIN SUGAR.
