GRANDMA FORNEY'S JELLO SALAD
THIS WAS THE ONE DISH WE COULD ALWAYS COUNT ON GRANDMA TO BRING TO A FAMILY DINNER. SHE WOULD TRY TO SUBSTITUTE DIFFERENT FLAVORED JELLO BUT NOTHING WAS ALLOWED TO BE CHANGED SO SHE LEARNED TO STICK TO THIS FAMILY FAVORITE AS WRITTEN.
List of Ingredients
- 3 PACKAGES SRAWBERRY/BANANA JELLO
- 5 CUPS HOT WATER
- 2 BANANAS, SLICED
- 1 CAN CRUSHED PINEAPPLE, SAVE JUICE
- TOPPING:
- 2 EGGS
- 2 TABLESPOONS FLOUR
- 1/2 CUP SUGAR
- 1 PACKAGE UNFLAVORED GELATIN
- 1/4 CUP WATER
- 1 CARTON, THAWED WHIPPED TOPPING.
Instructions
- MAKE JELLO. POUR INTO 9X13 INCH DISH
- WHEN SET ADD BANANA SLICES AND DRAINED PINEAPPLE.
- TOPPING;
- COOK PINEAPPLE JUICE,EGGS,FLOUR AND SUGAR UNTIL THICK.
- REMOVE FROM HEAT, ADD GELATIN THAT HAS BEEN DISSOLVED IN 1/4 CUP WATER.
- COOL TO ROOM TEMPERATURE.
- FOLD IN WHIPPED TOPPING.
- SPREAD OVER JELLO AND CHILL
