    MIZXED BERRY DUMPLINGS

    THIS WAS A GREAT WAY TO USE THE ABUNDANCE OF WILD BLUEBERRIES WE PICKED DURING OUR SUMMERS IN UPPER MICHIGAN.


    List of Ingredients


    • 1 CUP FRESH OR FROZEN BLUEBERRIES
    • 1 CUP FRESH OR FROZEN RASPBERRIES
    • 1 CUP FRESH OR FROZEN STRAWBERRIES
    • 1 CUP WATER
    • 2/3 CUP SUGAR
    • DUMPLINGS:
    • 3/4 CUP FLOUR
    • 1/4 CUP SUGAR
    • 1 TEASPOON BAKING POWDER
    • 1/4 TEASPOON CINNAMON
    • 1/4 TEASPOON NUTMEG
    • 3 TABLESPOONS COLD BUTTER OR MARGARINE
    • 1/3 CUP MILK


    Instructions


    1. IN SAUCEPAN COMBINE THE BERRIES,WATER AND SUGAR.
    2. BRING TO A BOIL.
    3. REDUCE HEAT; COVER AND SIMMER FOR 5 MINUTES.
    4. IN A BOWL, COMBINE FLOUR, SUGAR,BAKING POWDER, CINNAMON AND NUTMEG.
    5. CUT IN BUTTER UNTIL MIXTURE IS COARSE CRUMBS.
    6. ADD MILK, STIR JUST TIL MOIST.
    7. DROP BY SPOONFULS ONTO TOP OF SIMMERING BERRIES.
    8. COVER AND SIMMER ABOUT 10 MINUTES OR UNTIL A TOOTHPICK INSERTED IN DUMPLING COMES OUT CLEAN.
    9. DO NOT LIFT LID THE FIRST 10 MINUTES.
    10. SERVE WARM
