    List of Ingredients


    • 4 cups sugar
    • 1 cup light corn syrup
    • 3/4 cup water
    • 3 egg whites, stiffly beten
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla
    • 1 cup chopped walnuts


    Instructions


    1. Combine sugar, syrup and water in a saucepan and cook over low heat, without stirring, until sugar is dissolved, and mixture reaches 255F (or until a small amount dropped into cold water forms a hard ball.

    2. Remove from heat; pour the mixture in a fine stream into stiffly beaten egg whites, beating constantly. Continue beating until mixture holds shape and loses its gloss.

    3. Add vanilla and nuts.

    4. Drop quickly from tip of spoon onto waxed paper in individual pieces.

    5. Makes about 30 pieces
