    Heirloom Holiday Custard

    This recipe is passed on from Grandma Glanz, who makes gallons and gallons and gallons every year, to my mom and now it is a traditional holiday treat at our house.


    List of Ingredients


    • 12 eggs
    • 6 tablespoons flour
    • 4 cups sugar
    • 4 dash salt
    • 1 gallon milk
    • 2 tablespoons vanilla


    Instructions


    1. Add ingredients to a double boiler. Stir milk in slowly.
    2. Heat on medium heat without boiling for about 45 minutes to an hour stirring almost constantly.
    3. DO NOT BOIL.
    4. When complete add the vanilla.
