1 quart fresh fruit (apples, peaches, pears, plums)
1 cup sugar
1 cup water
Recipe
Wash, pare and core fruit. Slice or leave whole, as desired.
Bring sugar and water to a boil. Add fruit and simmer until tender and
slightly transparent. Cool. Serve with a cookie as a light dessert.
Serves 4 to 6.
