    4 large white Bermuda or Vidalia onions
    Salt and pepper
    Paprika
    4t. butter
    1/4 cup flour
    4 to 6 cups heavy cream
    1 cup prepared stuffing crumbs

    Peel and thinly slice onions
    In a 2 1/2 quart deep casserole, layer onions, seasoning each layer
    with
    salt, pepper and paprika and sprinkle with flour. Pour heavy cream over
    casserole until it comes to 1/2" from top and covers the top layer
    completely.Cover and bake at 325 for 4 to 5 hours (yep, that's right,
    folks, 4 to 5 hours), Half an hour before serving, remove cover, pour
    stuffing evenly over top layer, and bake 30 minutes more. Serve at
    once.
    Serves 6 to 8
    Notes: It does make a lot, so be sure to use a
    very deep casserole.
