    Cinnamon Roll Bread Pudding

    6-8 stale cinnamon rolls torn into small pieces (about 12 cups)
    1/3 cup raisins (optional)
    1/3 cup chopped pecans (optional)
    1 quart milk
    5 eggs
    1 cup sugar
    1 tsp. vanilla
    1/4 cup butter

    Recipe



    Place cinnamon roll pieces in a greased 9 x 13 pan. Sprinkle raisins and nuts on top. In a large bowl, mix milk, eggs, sugar and vanilla. Pour over rolls. Cover and chill overnight. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Dot with slices of chilled butter. Place dish in a larger roasting pan and fill with hot water about halfway of the sides of baking dish. Bake 40-45 min.

    For sauce:

    Heat 1-1/3 cup whipping cream and 1/4 cup sugar in a double boiler. Combine 4 eggs yolks and 1/4 cup sugar in a small bowl and beat until blended. Stir some of the hot cream mixture into the eggs. Then pour egg mixture into the hot cream stirring and cooking for another 8 minutes. Remove from heat and add 1 tsp. vanilla. Serve warm over pudding.
