    Kindergarten Cookies

    Source of Recipe

    my own creation

    Recipe Introduction

36 at 2 points each. The reason these cut out sugar cookies are called "kindergarten cookies" is the first time I made them was when my now 24 year old son was in "kindergarten". Now as a family we make these for all holidays, Easter, Halloween, Christmas, etc. Frosting for these is under "kidnegarten Frosting".

    List of Ingredients

    1 1/2 cup sugar
    1/2 cup shortening
    1/2 cup buttermilk
    1/4 tsp table salt
    1 tsp vanilla extract
    1 tsp baking soda
    1 egg
    3 1/2 cup all-purpose flour

    Recipe

Combine shortening and sugar. Cream well. Add egg, beat well. add vanilla, salt, and baking soda. mix well. Then add flour alternating w/ buttermilk to make a stiff bill. Refrigerate overnight, or at least 4 hours.
Roll out dough, use cookie cutters, bake greased cookie sheet, 375 10-12 minutes. Cool and Frost.
