Place sponge cake dessert shells on baking sheet. Spoon strawberry preserves into shell. Place firmly frozen scoops of ice cream in center of each dessert shell. Cover top and sides with meringue made of 6 egg whites and 3/4 cup sugar. Brown under broiler for 3-5 minutes. Serve on chilled plates.
Scoop ice cream out ahead of time and keep in freezer.
