CRISPY ORANGE ALMOND COOKIES.

1 cup shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
1 egg
2 tbsp orange juice
1 tbsp grated orange peel
1/2 tsp almond extract
2 1/3 cups flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 cup chopped almonds

CRISPY ORANGE ALMOND COOKIES.

In a mixing bowl, cream shortening and sugars. Beat in egg, orange juice, peel and extract. Combine flour and baking soda. Gradually add to creamed mixture. Stir in almonds. Roll into 1" balls. Place 2" apart on ungreased baking sheets. Bake at 375 degrees for 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove to wire racks to cool.
