Frozen Hawaiian Pie
:
1 can (14-ounces) sweetened condensed milk
1 carton (12-ounces) frozen whipped topping, thawed
1 can (20-ounces) crushed pineapple, drained
1/2 cup chopped walnuts (more, if desired)
1/2 cup chopped maraschino cherries
2 tablespoons lemon juice
2 graham cracker crusts (9-inches)
Fresh Mint and additional walnuts and maraschino cherries
Directions:
In a bowl, combine milk and whipped topping. Gently fold in pineapple, nuts, cherries, and lemon juice. Pour into the crusts.
Freeze until firm, about 4-hours. Remove from the freezer 20 minutes before serving. Garnish with mint, nuts and cherries.
Yields: 2 pies (6-8 servings each)
Note: For a Nuttier Flavor:
To add crunch and intensify the flavor of the walnuts that garnish Frozen Hawaiian Pie, spread the nuts in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 6-10 minutes or until browned. Stir several several times and watch closely so they don't get too dark.
