    Semi-Oriental Crock Pot Beef Stew

    (Serves 6).

    1 lb boneless stewing beef, lean, cut in 1/2 inch cubes
    1 tsp oregano
    1/2 tsp Italian seasoning
    1 tsp basil
    2 tbsp oyster sauce
    1 tbsp light soy sauce
    2 cups water
    2 tbsp sugar
    1 tsp salt
    1/2 tsp pepper
    5 large carrots, peeled, sliced in 1/2 inch pieces
    6 large mushrooms, cut into quarters
    1 cup frozen peas
    2 tsp cornstarch mixed with 2 tbsp water to thicken

    Semi-Oriental Crock Pot Beef Stew
    (Serves 6).


    Turn crock pot on high. Add stew beef, oregano, Italian seasoning, basil, oyster sauce, soya sauce, water, sugar, salt, and pepper. Stir ingredients together in crock pot and let cook for 2-1/2 hours. Add carrots and mushrooms and let cook for another hour. Add peas and let cook for another 1/2 hour. Mix the cornstarch and water well, make sure liquid in pot is boiling, then quickly add cornstarch solution into crock pot. Stir and allow to thicken. Serve with rice or noodles.
