    Apple Brown Betty

    List of Ingredients

    1 can 22oz apple pie filling
    1 large egg
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    1 cup sugar
    1 cup flour
    1 teaspoon baking powder
    1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted


    Empty filling into 8" or 9" square pan and sprinkle cinnamon to taste. Beat egg slightly and add vanilla. In another bowl, mix next 3 ingredients, add egg and mix until crumbly. Distribute evenly over pie fillng, Pour butter on top and bake in moderate oven 375 degrees for 30 minutes, or until golden brown and done.
    Makes 6 servings.
    Note: Canned apple pie slices can be used. Sprinkle with 1 tablespoon of sugar. Other fillings such as cherry or blueberry can be substituted for the apple.
