    German Chocolate Cake

    List of Ingredients


    • 1 pkg. bakers german chocolate
    • 1/2 cup of boiling water
    • 2 cups of sugar
    • 1 cup of butter
    • 4 egg yolks
    • 1 tsp. vanilla
    • 2 1/4 cups of sifted flour
    • 1 tsp. soda
    • 1/2 tsp. salt
    • 1 cup of buttermilk
    • 4 egg whites stiffly beaten


    Instructions


    1. Melt chocolate in boiling water. Cool. Cream butter and sugar until fluffy. Add egg yolks, one at a time, beating well after each. Blend in vanilla and chocolate. Sift flour,soda, and salt, add alternately with the buttermilk to other mixture, beating after each addition. Fold in beaten egg whites. Bake in 3-9" pans 30-35 minutes. Cool
    2. FROSTING
    3. 1 1/2 cup evaporated milk
    4. 1 1/2 cup sugar
    5. 4 egg yolks
    6. 3/4 cup oleo
    7. 1 tsp. vanilla
      1 tsp. vanilla

    8. Cook and stir over medium heat until thick, add 1 1/2cup of coconut and 1 cup chopped pecans. Cool, beat, and spread on cake.
