    My friend, Tammy, substituted strawberries and said that it turned out and tasted wonderful.


    List of Ingredients


    • 1 cup flour
    • 1/3 cup sugar
    • 1 teaspoon baking powder
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 2 Tablespoons cold butter
    • 1 egg, beaten
    • 2 Tablespoons milk
    • 2 egg whites
    • 1/2 cup sugar
    • 2 cups fresh raspberries


    Instructions


    1. Combine the flour, 1/3 cup sugar, baking powder and salt.
    2. Cut in the butter until crumbly.
    3. Combine the egg and milk.
    4. Stir egg mixture into flour mixture.Dough will be sticky.
    5. Press into the bottom and up the sides of a greased 9" pie pan.
    6. Beat egg whites with a blender on medium speed until soft peaks form.
    7. Gradually beat in the 1/2 cup sugar, 1 Tablespoon at a time, until stiff peaks form.
    8. Fold in the raspberries.
    9. Spoon over the crust.
    10. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 30-35 minutes or until browned.
    11. Cool on a wire rack ad store in the refrigerator.
