    Chocolate Mousse Brownies with Mousse

    List of Ingredients




    FOR BROWNIES
    1/2 cup butter
    12 ounces semisweet chocolate
    2 cups sugar
    1 1/4 cups flour
    2 tsp vanilla
    1/2 tsp baking powder
    1/2 tsp salt
    3 large eggs
    1/2 cup chopped pecans

    FOR TOPPING
    3/4 cup heavy whipping cream
    6 ounces semisweet chocolate
    3 large eggs
    1 1/2 tsp vanilla
    1/2 cup sugar
    1/4 tsp salt
    1 cup choped pecans

    Recipe



    PREPARE PAN:
    1. Line a 13X9 inch pan with heavy foil. Leave 3-4 inches of overhang over the handles of the pan. Fold overhang back to create a lift-out tray to ease removal. Butter pan. Heat oven to 350F.

    MAKE BROWNIES
    1. Melt butter with chocolate and allow to cool

    2. Stir in all remaining brownie ingredients, except nuts, and beat til smooth.

    3. Stir in pecans. Pour into prepared pan.

    MAKE TOPPING
    1. Melt chocolate with cream, stirring constantly, over low heat. Allow to cool slightly.

    2. In separate bowl, beat remaining ingredients except nuts til foamy.

    3. Stir in chocolate/cream mixture.

    4. Pur moussse over brownies, Sprinkle with pecans.

    5. Bake for 50-55 minutes. Cool completely (1-2 hours) before cutting and removing.

    TO SERVE:
    1. Lift foil edges and remove entire brownie from pan.

    2. Cut into squares with a serrated knife.

    3. Garnish. Use a simple dusting of powdered sugar, or go all out with real whipped cream and a sprinkling of cinnamon.
