Recipe
For each tree
· Tear off selvage from edge of fabric
· Tear material in half at fold. You should have two pieces about 18 inches X 22 inches
· Working with one half of fabric measure in 8 inches from edge and rip. You should have two pieces one 8 inches X 18 inches; the other 14 inches X 18 inches.
· Working with the other half of fabric measure in 10 inches edge and rip. You should have two pieces one 10 inches X 18 inches; the other 12 inches X 18 inches.
· You should now have a 14", 12", 10" and 8" piece of material.
· Using long side (18" side), cut 1 1/2 inch slits along entire length of 18 inch side for each of the four fabric pieces.
· Rip into strips. Keep each size separated. You should have about 12 strips of each size. 14" X 1 1/2"; 12" X 1 1/2"; 10" X 1 1/2"; 8" X 1 1/2".
· Tie strips in half knot around dowel, starting with longest strips at bottom and moving to shortest strips at top. Note the small tree (12" dowel) will only use 12", 10", and 8" strips.
· Secure dowel with strips to base and glue
· Add star to top and glue.
