    1 pound pork sausage
    3 tablespoons butter or margarine
    1/4 cup all-purpose flour
    2 1/3 cups cold milk
    1/2 teaspoon salt
    1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper

    Recipe



    Cook sausage in butter, in a large skillet over medium heat, stirring until it crumbles and is no longer pink. Whisk flour into hot meat and drippings until smooth; cook, whisking constantly, 1 minute. Whisk in cold milk, and cook, whisking constantly, 5 to 7 minutes or until thickened. Season with salt, and pepper.

    Yield: 2 cups.
