    1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
    2 teaspoons baking powder
    1/4 teaspoon salt
    1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
    Pinch of allspice
    1 egg, slightly beaten
    1/3 cup milk
    1/4 cup maple-flavored syrup
    1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
    1 cup coarsely chopped pecans
    1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    1/2 cup sugar
    1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
    1/4 cup butter or margarine, melted

    Recipe



    Combine first 5 ingredients in a medium bowl; make a well in center of mixture.
    Combine egg, milk, syrup, and 1/2
    cup butter; add to dry ingredients, stirring just until moistened. Stir in pecans and vanilla. Fill paper-lined muffin pans two-thirds full. Bake at 4000 for 15 to 20 minutes.
    Combine sugar and cinnamon. Dip tops of warm muffins in remaining 1/4 cup butter, then sugar mixture.
    Yield: 1 dozen.
