    1/3 cup white rice
    1/3 cup brown rice
    1/4 cup onion, chopped
    1 clove garlic, minced
    2 tsps olive oil
    2/3 cup chicken broth
    1/2 tsp dried basil
    salt and pepper, to taste

    Recipe



    1. Sauté white and brown rice in olive oil until just browned.

    2. Add chopped onion and garlic and saute for 1-2 minutes longer.

    3. Add chicken broth and seasonings. Cover pan and simmer gently until chicken broth is absorbed. Serves 4.

    4. Note: Feel free to add other types of grains such as bulgur wheat or millet, other raw chopped vegetables, seasonings, bits of poultry or shrimp, or even frozen vegetables to make each pilaf unique.
