    Quick: Pear Bread

    List of Ingredients


    • 1/2 cup light butter or margarine, softened
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 2 large eggs
    • 2 cups flour
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1 teaspoon baking powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
    • 1/4 cup plain yogurt, sour cream, buttermilk or milk
    • 1 cup diced pears, skin removed
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla


    Instructions


    1. Cream butter and sugar. Then beat in eggs, one at a time. Mix together flour, salt, baking powder, baking soda and nutmeg. Add alternately to creamed mixture with yogurt (or what ever you choose. I like buttermilk). Stir in pears and vanilla.

    2. Spoon batter into one 9x5 inch or three mini (5 3/4x3x2 1/8 inch) loaf pan(s). Bake in a preheat 350 degree oven for 55 to 60 minutes for the 9x5 inch pan or about 32 to 38 minutes for the mini loaves. Bread is done when toothpick tests done and nice and golden brown on top. This bread freezes beautifully.
