    Doughnuts: Drop Doughnuts

    List of Ingredients


    • 2 tablespoons melted butter
    • 1 cup sugar
    • 4 egg yolks
    • 1 cup milk
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla
    • 3 cups flour, sifted
    • 2 teaspoons baking powder
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg, optional


    Instructions


    1. Combine butter, sugar, egg yolks and 1/4 cup of the milk. Beat 1 minute on medium speed with electric mixer. Add remaining milk and vanilla.

    2. Sift flour, baking powder and salt together. Add 1/2 to the first mixture. Beat 1 minute; add the remaining flour. Mix well.

    3. Drop small amounts from the end of a teaspoon into deep fat that has been heated to 370 degrees. Cook 2 to 3 minutes on each side (you may use a doughnut maker). Drain on paper towels and roll in sugar.
