    Sara Lee Chocolate Brownies With Frosting

    • 1/2 cup margarine
    • 1 cup water
    • 1/4 cup cocoa
    • 1/2 cup oil
    • 2 large eggs
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla
    • 2 cups all-purpose flour
    • 2 cups granulated sugar
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 cup buttermilk
    • 1 teaspoon baking soda
    • Frosting:
    • 1/2 cup margarine
    • 1/4 cup cocoa
    • 1/3 cup buttermilk
    • 1 (16 ounce) box confectioners' sugar
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla


    Instructions


    1. Brownies: Combine first 4 ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Pour over combined flour, sugar and salt. Add remaining ingredients and mix well. Pour into a 13x9 inch baking pan. Bake at 400 degrees for 20 minutes (I think I baked them at 350 degrees for 30 minutes or so when I cooked them, but it's been a while).

    2. Frosting: Combine first 3 ingredients in a saucepan and bring to a boil. Add confectioners' sugar and vanilla. Pour over warm brownies and chill well.
