    Cake: Milky Way Cake II

    List of Ingredients


    • 2 cups butter, softened
    • 8 large Milky Way bars
    • 2 cups sugar
    • 4 eggs
    • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    • 1 1/4 cups buttermilk
    • 2 1/4 cups cake flour
    • 1 cup pecans or walnuts
    • Frosting:
    • 1 cup canned evaporated milk
    • 1 (6 ounce) package chocolate chips
    • 1 cup marshmallow cream
    • 1 cup butter


    Instructions


    1. CAKE Combine 1 cup of butter and candy bars in top of a double boiler. Cook over hot water until melted. Set aside.

    2. Cream sugar and remaining butter until light. Dissolve baking soda in buttermilk and add to creamed mixture; alternating with flour. Add melted candy and nuts. Mix well until blended and smooth. Spoon into two 9 inch round greased cake pans. Bake 35 minutes at 325 degrees.

    3. FROSTING: Combine sugar and milk in a saucepan. Cook over low heat stirring until sugar until sugar dissolves to a soft ball stage, 238 degrees on a candy thermometer. Add chocolate chips, marshmallow cream and butter to dissolved sugar mixture. Beat 4 minutes. Cool. Spread on cooled cake.
