    Butterscotch Apple Squares

    List of Ingredients


    • 1/4 cup margarine or butter
    • 1 1/2 cups graham cracker crumbs
    • 2 small all-purpose apples, pared and chopped (about 1 1/4 cups)
    • 1 (6 ounce) package butterscotch flavored chips
    • 1 (14 ounce) can Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk
    • 1 (3 1/2 ounce) can flaked coconut ( 1 1/3 cups)
    • 1 cup chopped nuts


    Instructions


    1. Preheat oven to 350 (325 for glass dish).
    2. In a 13x9" baking pan, melt margarine in oven.
    3. Sprinkle crumbs evenly over margarine; top with apples.
    4. In heavy saucepan, over medium heat, melt chips with condensed milk.
    5. Pour butterscotch mixture evenly over apples.
    6. Top with coconut and nuts; press down firmly.
    7. Bake 25 to 30 minutes, or until lightly browned.
    8. Cool.
    9. Cut into squares.
    10. Garnish as desired.
    11. Refrigerate leftovers.
