- 2 large sweet or tart apples, unpeeled and cored
- 1/2 cup apple cider
- 1/4 cup packed light brown sugar
- Ground cinnamon, as garnish
- Ground nutmeg, as garnish
Instructions
- Cut apples into quarters; cut into thin 1/4 inch slices. Heat apples, cider and brown sugar to boiling in medium skillet; reduce heat and simmer, uncovered, until apples are crisp tender, 3 to 4 minutes. Place apples on serving dish with slotted spoon.
- Heat cider mixture to boiling; boil until mixture is reduced to a syrup consistency. Pour syrup over apples, and sprinkle very lightly with cinnamon and nutmeg. Serve over frozen yogurt, icecream, pancakes, waffles or crepes.
