    Holiday Raisin Pudding

    List of Ingredients


    • 1 cup flour
    • 1 teaspoon baking powder
    • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
    • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 cup sugar
    • 1 tablespoon butter
    • 1/2 cup milk
    • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla
    • 1/2 cup raisins
    • 1/2 cup chopped walnuts or sliced almonds (optional)
    • Sauce:
    • 1 cup brown sugar
    • 2 cups boiling water
    • 2 tablespoons butter


    Instructions


    1. In a small bowl, sift together first 5 ingredients. In a seperate larger bowl, combine sugar and butter; mix well.
    2. Add flour mixture to sugar mixture, alternating with milk. Then add vanilla, raisins, walnuts or almonds. Pour into large greased loaf pan.
    3. Sauce: Combine all three ingredients in a bowl and whisk together. Pour over pudding mixture and bake at 350 degrees for 40 to 45 minutes.
    4. Makes 6 to 8 servings
    5. Note: Place loaf pan on cookie sheet so it doesn’t boil over in oven. Serve with whipped cream if desired.
