Louisiana Praline Bars

- Bars:
- 3/4 cup butter or margarine
- 1 1/2 cups firmly packed brown sugar
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 2 eggs
- 2 cups Martha White Self-Rising Flour
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 cup chopped pecans
- Glaze:
- 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
- 1/4 cup firmly packed brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
Instructions
- Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease bottom only of 13x9 inch pan. Melt 3/4 cup butter in large saucepan over medium heat. Remove from heat. Add brown sugar, vanilla and eggs; blend well. Add flour and milk, mix well. Spread batter in greased pan; sprinkle with pecans. Bake at 375 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes or until top is deep golden brown. Cool 1 hour or until completely cooled.
- Melt 2 tablespoons butter in small saucepan over medium heat. Stir in remaining glaze ingredients. Bring to a boil. Cook 2 to 3 minutes or until slightly thickened, stirring constantly. Drizzle glaze over cooled bars. Let stand until glaze is set. Cut into bars.
- Yield: 48 bars
