    Peanut Butter Bliss Bars

    Source of Recipe

    Cilla

    List of Ingredients

    • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, at room temperature
    • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
    • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
    • 1/2 cup creamy peanut butter
    • 1 egg
    • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
    • 1 cup all-purpose flour
    • 3/4 cup quick cooking oats
    • 1 teaspoon baking soda
    • 1/4 teaspoon salt
    • 1 (6 ounce) package semi sweet chocolate chips
    • Icing:
    • 1 cup confectioners' sugar
    • 4 tablespoons creamy peanut butter
    • 4 tablespoons milk

    Instructions

    1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 13x9" baking dish; set aside.
    2. In a mixing bowl, cream butter, both sugars and peanut butter. Add egg and vanilla; mix well. In a seperate bowl, combine flour, oats, baking soda and salt; stir into creamed mixture. Spread into prepared pan (the easiest way to do this is with an offset spatula, if you have one).
    3. Bake for 20 to 25 minutes or until lightly browned. Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle with chocolate chips. Allow pan with chips on to set 5 for minutes, and then spread the now melted chips evenly over the bars (chips will soften from the heat of the bars).
    4. Combine icing ingredients; spoon over bars and swirl to create a marbled effect with the chocolate (again, use the offset spatula). Cool completely before cutting.
    5. Makes 3 to 4 dozen
