    Source of Recipe

    Internet

    List of Ingredients

    Instructions

    1. Cookies often do not need adjustment for high altitude, however, they can be improved by:
    2. Slight increase in oven temperature.
    3. Decrease in leavening
    4. Decrease in fat and sugar by 1/4
    5. Increase in liquid ingredients (1 to 2 tablespoons) and flour as needed
    6. Test one cookie before baking entire batch
    7. Fat/Sugar: There is often to much fat and sugar in these recipes to begin with. However, be careful about using low fat margarines for baking. Due to the higher water content, it can effect the quality of the finished baked good. For best results in baking, use a margarine that has atleast 10 grams fat per tablespoon.
    8. If your cookies are to flat or too hard:
    9. Decrease baking powder or baking soda slightly (by 1/8)
    10. Increase liquid ingredients (Add 1 to 2 tablespoons water to recipe)
    11. For added calcium, replace 1/4 cup of sugar with 1/4 cup of non fat dry milk powder
    12. Don't overbake
