    • 2 tablespoons butter
    • 2 tablespoons flour
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1 cup milk
    • 1 cup shredded cheese (milk or sharp, american, cheddar, swiss, etc.)
    • 1/8 teaspoon white pepper


    Instructions


    1. Melt the butter over a low heat.
    2. Stir in the flour and salt until the mixture is smooth.
    3. Slowly add the milk and cook over a medium heat, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and comes to a boil.
    4. Add the cheese and stir to melt.
