    List of Ingredients


    • 2 tablespoons butter
    • 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
    • 1 tablespoon chopped garlic
    • 3 cups 1% milk
    • 4 ounces neufchatel cheese
    • 3/4 cup shredded parmesan cheese (a parmesan/ romano blend tastes great)
    • 1 teaspoon ground pepper


    Instructions


    1. Melt butter in medium saucepan over medium high heat. Add garlic and saute for 1 minute. Stir in flour to form paste. Slowly whisk in milk. Continue whisking until mixture thickens, 5 to 7 minutes. Add ground pepper, parmesan and neufchatel cheese (cut into chunks) and continue stirring until completely melted.
    2. Great tossed with whole wheat pasta, chopped cooked chicken breast, and chopped steamed veggies. Or, pour over grilled chicken breasts, use as a white pizza sauce, pour over baked potato or veggies...the sky's the limit!
