    • 8 ounces elbow macaroni
    • 1/4 cup butter or margarine
    • 1 (5 ounce) can evaporated milk
    • 2 eggs
    • 3/4 teaspoon dried mustard
    • 1/2 teaspoon salt
    • 1/2 teaspoon hot pepper sauce (optional)
    • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, grated


    Instructions


    1. Cook pasta in a large saucepan according to package directions. Drain and set aside.
    2. Melt butter in same saucepan over medium heat.
    3. Remove from heat and whisk in milk, eggs, mustard and optional hot pepper sauce.
    4. Return pasta to pan; stir in cheese. Mix well.
    5. Cook over low heat 4 to 5 minutes, stirring constantly, until cheese is melted and mixture is creamy and thickened.
    6. Serve immediately.
    7. Makes 4 to 6 servings.
