    Recipe Introduction

I have added and deleted some ingredients to adjust to my family's taste. This isn't very spicy so I put the chili powder on the table so it can be made as spicy as folks want!

    List of Ingredients

    • 3.5 lbs Ground Chuck
    • 1/4 c Chopped Green Pepper
    • 1/2 c Chopped Onion
    • 1/2 t Salt
    • 3 14.5 oz Cans Of Fire Roasted Diced Tomatoes (Aldi)
    • 2 28 oz Cans Of Crushed Tomatoes (Aldi)
    • 2 pkgs Of Lipton Dried Beefy Onion Soup Mix
    • 1 15 oz Can Of Black Beans, Drained And Rinsed (Aldi)
    • 1 T Chili Powder
    • 2 t Ground Cumin
    • 2 t Cocoa Powder
    • 1 c Pepsi
    • Garnishes:
    • Shredded Cheddar Cheese (Use Your Favorite)
    • Chopped Green Onions
    • Sour Cream

    Instructions

    1. Brown ground beef. When almost all of the pink is gone, add salt, green peppers and onions, cook until onions and peppers are soft and tender.
    2. Add the rest of the ingredients. (Not The Garnishes)
    3. Bring to a boil and turn down to low simmering for 2 hours. Stir every 15 minutes to avoid burning or place in a crock pot.
    4. Remove from heat and allow to cool so the fat comes to the top and becomes hard so it can be removed. If it is cold enough outside (40* or less) and you have a safe place to put it outside, use mother nature to give you a hand!
    5. Chili can then be reheated and served in 2 hours or the next day or so.
    6. Garnish with cheese, chopped green onions and sour cream.
    7. Enjoy!
