    Hamburger Pie

    List of Ingredients




    1 package of crescent rolls (8 count)
    1 lb. ground beef (the leaner, the tastier!)
    1 T. Chili Powder
    1/2 T. Onion Powder OR 1 small chopped onion
    1/2 T. garlic powder OR 2 cloves garlic, crushed
    1 c. tomato sauce
    1 can Chili Hot beans (Optional)
    1/2 c. cooked mushrooms, (Optional)
    3/4 to 1 lb. shredded cheese (any mixture of kinds)
    1 egg

    Brown meat, onion and garlic. Drain. Add tomato sauce (and chili hot
    beans and/or mushrooms) and simmer until no longer soupy. While meat
    is browning, prepare crust by lining a large pie plate (10 in is best)
    with crescent rolls (they will all fit, just tear and place where
    needed).

    Beat egg in a small bowl, add a half cup of shredded cheese and mix well. Spread egg/cheese mixture on the bottom of pie crust. Add cooked meat mixture in on top of that. Top with remaining cheese and bake for 25 - 30 minutes at 350 F. Allow to set for at least 5 minutes after bringing it out of the oven. Serve with a nice dollop of sour cream and your favorite hot sauce! I have also made different variations by adding basil and oregano and using mozzarella cheese and topping it with pepperoni.
