    ITALIAN BURGERS

    List of Ingredients




    1 pound ground beef
    1 large yellow onion, diced
    2 cloves garlic, minced, or 1 teaspoon garlic powder
    2 tablespoons bread crumbs
    2 tablespoons dried parsley
    1 teaspoon salt or more to taste
    1 tablespoon dried basil
    1 1/2 teaspoons dried oregano
    1 1/2 teaspoons dried rosemary
    Freshly ground pepper
    4 hamburger buns, toasted
    4 slices mozzarella or Cheddar cheese, optional
    4 slices tomatoes
    4 leaves lettuce
    Ketchup
    Mustard
    Pickles

    Heat grill to medium-high. Mix ground beef with onion, garlic, bread
    crumbs, parsley, salt, basil, oregano, rosemary and pepper to taste.
    Form into 4 patties, each about 4 inches across. (If making ahead,
    cover and refrigerate up to overnight.)

    Grill burgers about 4 minutes on each side for medium doneness or
    grill until desired doneness. (To assure food safety, burgers should
    reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees.)

    Place burgers on buns; top with cheese, tomatoes and lettuce. Serve
    with ketchup, mustard and pickles.

    Yield: 4 servings.

    Approximate nutrition information per serving: 415 calories; 18g fat
    (41 percent calories from fat); 80mg cholesterol; 30g protein; 31g
    carbohydrate; 3g fiber; 925mg sodium.
