Cinnamon Sticks

- 2 1/4 cups flour
- 1/3 cup sugar
- 1 cup cold butter
- 1 tsp banilla
- 1/2 cup sugar or colored sugar
- 1 tsp ground cinnamon
Instructions
- In a large bowl, conbine flour and the 1/3 cup sugar. Using a pastry blender, cut in butter until mixture resembles fine crumbs and begins to cling together.
- Sprinkle vanilla over crumb mixture. Knead gently with hands until mixture can be formed into a ball.
- On a lightly floured surface, roll dough to an 8-inch square. Use a crinkle cutter or knife to cut each rectangle into 1/2 inch wide strips. Cut each strip crosswise in thirds to form 2 1/2 inch long sticks.
- In a shallow dish, combine the 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon. Roll the stick in the sugar mixture to coat.
- Place sticks about 1 inch apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in a 400 degree oven 8-10 minutes or until bottoms begin to brown. Cool for 1 minute on cookie sheet. Transfer to a wire rack and cool completely. Makes 48 cookies
