    Cinnamon Sticks


    List of Ingredients


    • 2 1/4 cups flour
    • 1/3 cup sugar
    • 1 cup cold butter
    • 1 tsp banilla
    • 1/2 cup sugar or colored sugar
    • 1 tsp ground cinnamon


    Instructions


    1. In a large bowl, conbine flour and the 1/3 cup sugar. Using a pastry blender, cut in butter until mixture resembles fine crumbs and begins to cling together.
    2. Sprinkle vanilla over crumb mixture. Knead gently with hands until mixture can be formed into a ball.
    3. On a lightly floured surface, roll dough to an 8-inch square. Use a crinkle cutter or knife to cut each rectangle into 1/2 inch wide strips. Cut each strip crosswise in thirds to form 2 1/2 inch long sticks.
    4. In a shallow dish, combine the 1/2 cup sugar and cinnamon. Roll the stick in the sugar mixture to coat.
    5. Place sticks about 1 inch apart on an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake in a 400 degree oven 8-10 minutes or until bottoms begin to brown. Cool for 1 minute on cookie sheet. Transfer to a wire rack and cool completely. Makes 48 cookies
