Kaye's Asparagus And Egg Casserole

3 T. butter
1 T. grated onion
2 T. flour
1 c. milk
1/2 c. grated American cheese
1 tsp. salt
1/8 tsp. pepper
1 lb. fresh asparagus (cooked) or 1 bag frozen
3 hard cooked eggs, sliced
1/2 c. buttered bread crumbs
Recipe
Melt butter, add onion, and cook until tender. Add flour and blend. Gradually add milk, stirring constantly.
Add seasoning and cheese. Stir until cheese is melted.
Alternate layers of asparagus and egg slices in a greased baking dish. Pour sauce over.
Top with buttered crumbs.
Bake at 350 for 20 mins.
